Frequently asked questions about the SCOV Pickleball Club:
How do I join the club?
Club membership is open to all residents of SCOV (full time, part time, or renter). There are three steps to becoming a member.
- Register.
- Pay dues.
Club memberships are per individual, not per household. For example, if there are three people in an SCOV household and they all wish to become members, each one needs to register with their own unique email address to login and pay for membership.
How do I register for an account?
If you have never had an account on this website, or your membership has lapsed for an extended period, then you will need to create an account before you can login and join the club. To register for an account, click here and follow the instructions. Each club member must register with their own unique email address.
How do I login to my account?
Use your email address and password to login. The email address you enter on the login form must exactly match the email address on your pickleball club account. The password you enter on the login form is case sensitive and must also be correct, so use the “eyeball” icon on the password field to make the password visible. If you really want to login, double check both fields carefully and then click the Log In button.
How do I pay dues?
You must be logged in to your account to pay your dues. If you aren’t already logged in to your account, log out of your spouse’s account if necessary and use your email address and password to login to your account.
When on the home page, select the Pay Dues link in the main menu to display the membership checkout page. If possible, dues should be paid using a credit card in the member’s name, not in the spouse’s name. Complete the information on the checkout page as needed, including the check boxes, and submit the payment.
How do I get scheduled for an orientation session?
A safety orientation is required before playing with the club. After you join the club (register, login, and pay dues), email the club’s orientation coordinator who will get back you to arrange an orientation date and time that works for you.
I am new to Pickleball. Who can I ask to assist me with getting better?
If you are new to pickleball or just consider yourself having beginner skill sets, we have a team of volunteers ready to meet with you during the “beginners” time listed on the posted schedule. Simply email Doyle Ranstrom, doyle@doylearanstrom.com. A mentor will meet you at a scheduled time to instruct you at a level you are comfortable with, including playing games with other beginners!
Our Mentors:
Doyle Ranstrom – doyle@doylearanstrom.com
Barb Hoffman – hoffmla@hotmail.com
Beth Nuveen – betsynuveen@yahoo.com
How do I change my password, my email address, etc.?
You can change your password, email address, contact, and demographic information on the profile page. You must be logged in to modify your profile. If you aren’t already logged in to your account, use your email address and password to login to your account.
On the Home Page, use the main menu to navigate to Members Only… Edit Account Profile. Make the desired changes and click the Update Profile button at the bottom of the page. If you change your email address, an email will be sent at your new address to confirm it. The new address will not become active until confirmed.
How do I recover a lost password?
If you lose your password, follow these steps to create a new one.
- Go to the login form and click on the “Lost your password?” link.
- On the next screen, enter your Email Address, then click the “Get New Password” button.
- Then wait for an email (at the email address that you entered) containing a reset link. It might take several hours to receive the email, so be patient. Do NOT attempt to login before receiving and activating the password reset. Use the time constructively to figure out how you are going to make sure that this is the last time you lose your password.
- When the Password Reset email is received (it might be in Spam), click on the reset link in the email.
- On the New Password screen, remove the suggested password and enter your desired password. Then click the Save Password button.
How do I keep from getting locked out?
The short answer: Enter your login credentials correctly.
The way to get locked out is with repeated failed attempts to login. You only get 10 tries. Make sure you are using the correct email address, the email address on your pickleball account. Passwords are case-sensitive. Click on the “eyeball” icon to make the password visible and inspect it. Write it down. If it fails, scratch it. If you are using saved credential that fail, that means they are wrong. Don’t keep trying them. Type in your email address and password carefully and correctly.
The lockout period is 10 minutes, give or take. That is just enough time to think about what you might have done wrong and how to get it right.
If you can’t figure it out, use the Contact Us item on the main menu to request help.
How do I reserve a court?
All SCOV residents can reserve pickleball courts on the SCOV website, https://suncityorovalley.com/. This is a separate website from the Pickleball Club website. It is run by the SCOV Administration for the benefit of all SCOV residents. Questions regarding court reservations should be directed to the Admin Office rather than the Pickleball Club.
Residents who wish to reserve a court must first have a login account on the SCOV website. This is a separate login from your pickleball website login. If you don’t have a login, contact the SCOV Admin Office to get one. The process to create an account can take several days, so don’t wait until you want a court reservation to create your account.
Once logged in, go to Reserve Lap Lanes & Courts. Pickleball Court reservations can be made for 30, 60, or 90 minutes. The pickleball court schedule indicates which Open courts are reservable and when.
How do I check my expiration date?
Active members can view their expiration date on their Membership Card. You must be logged in first. From the Home Page, navigate to Members Only… Membership Card. Print your card and have it with you on the courts.
